Roche Lineages

The results for the members can be viewed on the FTDNA Roache Y-DNA results page.

The guidelines for organizing members into lineages can be found by clicking on the Lineage button (see top menu).  The page lists 7 ancestral lineages which each have a single originating founder.  Surnames came into common usage from approximately 1100 AD onwards.  Therefore the founder of each lineage has acquired the surname independently from other ancestral lines from 1100 AD onwards.

An individual is included in a lineage if they have a common ancestor with another member of the group which is less than 850 years ago.  The chart also lists a members most distant known ancestor, which may assist with identifying a connection between different family groups.

A discussion of these results can be found in the “discussion” section.
